Since I was a child, I have loved Japanese wood block prints and try to capture their beautiful line quality in my Asian inspired art pieces. My recent textile collage mixed media pieces also have a whimsical side that make people smile such as My Best Friend series or my Bon Voyage series that I can personalize with photos and memorabilia to make a custom collage for a special travel memory. And for years I was a fashion illustrator for sportswear companies and advertising agencies so female figures are almost always in my art such as in my textile collage Under a Quilt of Klimt that captures the iridescent jewel tones and beautiful patterns made famous by the artist Klimt. This past year I had several pieces on exhibit at the San Jose Quilt Museum and the Olive Hyde Art Gallery.
I look forward to sharing my art with you and explaining the different techniques I use. You will see my original etching plates and carved wood blocks as I explain these traditional processes and show how I combine them with contemporary digital techniques.
