Transparent watercolors are Veronica’s primary medium. She prefers the inspirational immediacy of plein air painting. She is most inspired when engaged in outdoor activities such as traveling, backpacking, hiking and skiing. If weather or schedule do not permit her to finish a painting at the scene, a small watercolor sketch retains that first impression when translated to larger paper in the studio.
Veronica enjoys her painting time after retiring from thirty years of teaching art to high school students in San Jose. She shows her work at the Gallery 24 in Los Gatos and at the Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos. She is also active with the Allied Artists West, the Santa Clara County Watercolor Society and the Los Gatos Art Association Plein Air group. She has been juried in several local, national and international exhibitions. She won first place in the 47th Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition 2015 and is now a Signature Member of Watercolor West. She participated in the Los Gatos Plein Air Competition in June, 2017
