After a career in technology, I decided to spend more time exploring my lifelong attraction to paint and color. These past years have been a revelation as I have explored the fascinating world of color, texture and composition. The floral series inspired by my garden seems to have taken on a life of its own. My goal now is to complete 100 floral paintings. Every time I finish a floral painting I think of yet another aspect that I have not addressed. The new paintings are verging on the abstract. In these paintings I strive to capture the transient beauty, amazing shapes and vivid colors I see in these flowers.
In addition to the floral series, I have been working on a textured landscape series that I started last year.
I find the painting process both stimulating and exciting. I enjoy the challenge of bringing my vision to reality. I will have a lot of new work that I hope to share with you at my Open Studio in May.
