Everything about glass fascinates me, the endless amount of colors, textures, transparency, even the sound it makes when I cut it into different shapes. Every project is a unique opportunity to find my own voice with the composition, lines, and color. When I start a new mosaic project I don’t plan ahead of time. There is no pre-sketching or choosing of colors before I begin. Everything flows together as the work progresses and I only know what the finished piece will look like when it is complete.
I am a self-taught mosaicist, who started as a stained glass artist. I saved my glass scraps for the opportunity that came when I received a pair of glass nippers and a bag of grout from a close friend. From there I quickly fell in love with creating mosaics. I gain pleasure from each and every project I work on and appreciate the great responses I get from people who view my work.
I am a member of CMA, Full Spectrum Mosaic Artists of Silicon Valley, and Los Altos Art Club.
