I'm the impatient potter. I want to master a new technique today, the clay to dry quickly, the glaze to work every time and the kiln to cool so I can open it….now.
My impatience stems from the strong desire to create and experience all that I can, quickly. I've tried various mediums but landed firmly on the love of clay because surprise, it has taught me to sloooowwwww down. In fact you cannot become proficient at it unless you do and I've learned that the hard way, of course I did.
I know for sure that I will never learn everything about ceramics in my lifetime, and that's okay with me, in an impatient sort of way.
I'm fortunate that I'm able manage a local ceramics studio where I get to share my clay addiction. When I'm not playing with mud, I enjoy working with wildlife and gardening with succulents. And whenever possible I like to bring the two passions together in nature related works.
