The world can be a busy, overwhelming place. It's not the shiny, new, loud objects that interest me. Instead, I'm drawn to everyday materials (specifically discarded and well-worn books, ephemera, found objects, etc.) that would usually go by unnoticed, but upon closer inspection reveal a beauty created through everyday wear and tear. Through mixed media, I explore ideas universal to the human experience: nostalgia, imperfection, and second chances to transform into something completely different.
As a San Francisco Bay Area based mixed media artist, I have shown work at Marin MOCA, The Main Gallery in Redwood City and STUDIO Gallery in San Francisco. My bachelor’s degree is in International Relations and I completed summer studies abroad at the University of Pisa, Italy. In addition, I have taken classes at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Pacific Art League in Palo Alto and lots of workshops in various mixed media techniques nationally. San Carlos is my home city where I live with my husband and two children and also have a studio where I can make a beautiful mess at The Art Center.
