Weekend 3 Site 266
I am fascinated with nature, especially light and color, and my art celebrates the amazing design, complexity, and beauty found in creation! I’ve also been interested in the kinds of lives people live in the city. This year I concentrated on landscapes and cityscapes in both oil and watercolor, but I’m also very interested in people and flora as well. I work either from life or from my own photography, in a wide variety of media: oils watercolor, colored pencils, and sometimes acrylic. I also paint portraits of children.
I’ve painted literally my whole life. (I won my first awards at age 6.) I majored in art at the University of Washington and have studied with a variety of artists since then—most recently Paul Kratter and Ray Mendieta. After teaching art, photography and video production to hundreds of young people, (Santa Clara High School, New Valley, and Gunn High School) I retired early to pursue my art full time.
I study with Ray Mendieta.
