I paint the landscape, working from life and in the studio, exploring the way the sun transforms an ordinary object into visual poetry. There is a visceral connection between placing the pigment down on canvas while composing nature’s underlying rhythm of beauty, a meeting of my soul with the energy of the earth. In connecting with Mother Nature, I am humbled by her display, and pray that my mark making honors her magnificence.
Kim Lordier’s paintings have been exhibited at the Autry Museum CA, Maynard Dixon Country UT, Coors Western Art Show in Denver CO, National Arts Club, NY, Haggin Museum CA, Forbes Galleries NY, Pasadena Museum of California Art, Irvine Museum CA and the Laguna Art Museum CA.
