Making bowls continues to be one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. I’ve always felt a close kinship with the clay – and have been in love with bowls from the very beginning of my ceramics career. Bowl has been a part of all cultures for over 10,000 years and are simultaneously simple and complex. The shape is enduring and can be both functional and decorative. My bowls reflect my love of form and symmetry. I work exclusively in porcelain, my work is wheel-thrown, and I use multiple glazes to accentuate the inherent beauty of each bowl. I devote equal energy and creativity to both visual appearance and lightness. My pieces contain no lead, are high-fired, and are safe for oven, microwave, and dishwasher.
Over the years, my work has been exhibited at the Saratoga Rotary Art Shows, the Los Gatos Art & Wine Festivals, the OVCAG Art in Clay shows, the Friends of the Sunnyvale Pottery Studio shows, the Triton Museum of Art, and the Olive Hyde Gallery and is currently available at the AEgis Gallery of Fine Art in Saratoga, CA.
