Amy Brown is a self-taught artist working in soft sculpture and quilting. She often works from scrap fabrics and no patterns to achieve a surprise shape. Many of her pieces are not meant to live alone, but in colonies or collections. Expect bright colors, organic and unsettling shapes, and the whisper of cellophane streamers.
Brown has shown at Empire Seven Studios (2016), Space B (2017), Norfolk d’Art Center, and The Fenix (2018). Most recently she had work in the Form & Function exhibition at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. She also makes giant fruit and vegetable pillows under the moniker Jumbo Jibbles.
